Starrag Unveils Heckert X80: Versatile Five-Axis Machining Centre
Starrag Group, a leading machine tool manufacturer, has launched the Heckert X80, a versatile five-axis modular machining centre. This new addition to their X-Kompakt series, introduced in April 2025, accommodates workpieces up to 1200 mm in diameter and 1000 mm in height, with a maximum loading mass of 1200 kg.
The Heckert X80 boasts an impressive 24-inch touchscreen HMI and Siemens Sinumerik One control system for operator ease. It also includes an integrated camera for convenience. This machine offers innovative tool change systems, catering to both lightweight and heavy-duty tools, with a maximum length of 800 mm and diameter of 340 mm.
With a traverse rate of 65 m/min and changeover times of 21 seconds for pallets and 8 seconds for tools, the X80 ensures swift and efficient production. It provides X, Y, and Z axis travel of 1450 by 1300 by 1300 mm, requiring 18% less space than its predecessor. The machine offers various spindle options, including 12,500 rpm hollow shaft spindles and 15,000 rpm motor spindles.
The Heckert X80 features a workpiece-side swivel unit for high-dynamic 5-axis machining. It seamlessly integrates with Starrag's comprehensive automation solutions, such as Fastems FPT round pallet store systems and robotic cells. Additionally, turning technology is available as an option, enabling both classic and complex turning operations with machining centre productivity levels.
The Heckert X80, with its robust capabilities and innovative features, is set to enhance productivity and efficiency in various manufacturing sectors. Its compact footprint, versatile tooling, and seamless automation integration make it an attractive choice for businesses seeking to optimize their machining processes.
