Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis Showcases Economic Strength at Expo Real 2025
The Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis is set to showcase its economic prowess at Expo Real in Munich from October 6th to 8th, 2025. The regional joint stand, a collaboration between VR Bank eG Bergisch Gladbach-Leverkusen, Kreissparkasse Köln, Hahn Group, and Rösrath OSMAB Holding AG, will highlight two significant projects: the Zanders area transformation and the Rhombus site development in Wermelskirchen.
Led by RBW managing director Volker Suermann, the city of Bergisch Gladbach, and a local delegation, the projects will be presented to the real estate industry. The Zanders area project, a 36-hectare mixed-use quarter for residential, business, and educational purposes, is a key focus. Currently headed by Oliver Brügge, who will step down by July 31, 2026, the project aims to revitalize the former Zanders paper mill site.
The Rhombus site in Wermelskirchen, another notable project, seeks to create a new quarter with high green space quality and diverse public uses. Both projects are qualified within the framework of REGIONALE 2025, demonstrating the region's commitment to sustainable development.
The Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis' participation at Expo Real 2025 underscores the region's economic dynamism and potential. The Zanders area and Rhombus site projects, both integral to the region's growth, will be presented to industry professionals, offering opportunities for collaboration and investment.
