Pionierstraße Bridge Repairs Conclude: Smoother Commute Awaits
Residents of Pionierstraße can expect a smoother commute starting this Thursday, 02.10.2025, as repair works on the Scheuereckerbach valley bridge conclude around 16:00 hours. The project, costing approximately €800,000, is part of this year's €1.7 million municipal budget for road repairs.
The bridge has undergone significant renovations. The sidewalk caps have been recoated, and the railings now boast fresh corrosion protection. New, double-profile transition constructions have been installed at both abutments, ensuring a smoother ride. The road surface has been resurfaced with a new asphalt layer, extending up to the intersection with Messestraße, and marking work has been completed.
The bridge's structure has also been strengthened. The longitudinal water drainage has been repaired, and concrete repairs were carried out on the abutment chambers. Additionally, bird protection at both abutments has been renewed, ensuring the safety of local wildlife.
While the full closure of Pionierstraße will be lifted on Thursday, plans for the renovation of the road surface on Alte Straße and the deck construction on Halser Straße are still in progress for this year.
The successful completion of the Scheuereckerbach valley bridge repair marks a significant investment in the city's infrastructure. With around €1.7 million allocated for road repair work this year, local authorities continue to prioritise the maintenance and improvement of the city's roads.
