Microsoft Unveils Copilot Chat for Enterprise, Google Boosts Workspace AI, Gamma Acquires STARFACE
Microsoft has unveiled Copilot Chat, a new feature for Microsoft 365 customers that brings enterprise-level data protection and efficient agent management. The tool enables an organisation's entire workforce to start using Copilot and agents today, with a pay-as-you-go model for AI agents.
At the core of Workspace AI is the Gemini bot, which handles typical chatbot tasks and helps users locate information and manage complex tasks. Meanwhile, Google's Workspace AI offers advanced tools to streamline work and boost productivity, including email summaries, auto-generated designs, and an AI-powered note-taker. Google is making AI free for all Workspace subscribers and increasing the solution's subscription price from $12 to $14 per user per month.
In other news, UK-based telecom provider Gamma plans to acquire STARFACE, a German IP telephony and cloud PBX solutions company. The acquisition aligns with Gamma's strategy of accelerating cloud adoption and solidifying its position as a leading provider of cloud communication services in Germany. Tom Blackshaw, CEO of Gamma Communications plc, is leading this expansion. Following its recent acquisition of German telco Placetel, Gamma's user base in the German market now exceeds 500,000.
Copilot Chat features secure, free AI chat powered by GPT-4, integrating agents within the chat experience. Microsoft ensures enterprise-level data protection and efficient agent management in Copilot Chat. For Google, AI is now free for all Workspace subscribers, with a price increase to $14 per user per month. Gamma's acquisition of STARFACE strengthens its position in the German cloud communications market, following its recent acquisition of Placetel.
