Lisk Launches $15M EMpower Fund for Web3 Startups in Emerging Markets

Lisk, a blockchain software company, has launched the Lisk EMpower Fund, a $15 million venture initiative aimed at supporting Web3 startups in the world market. The fund focuses on Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, backing founders who are solving real-world problems in the stock market today.

The Lisk EMpower Fund addresses a critical gap in VC investment by offering support to founders at the earliest stages. It provides not only capital but also hands-on advisory support. Selected companies can receive up to $250,000 in funding.

Gideon Greaves, Head of Investments at Lisk, believes that the next unicorns will come from high-growth markets where founders are tackling genuine issues in the stock market today. The fund's first four recipients are Lov.cash, Afrikabal, IDRX, and SigraFi, although the specific amounts they received were not disclosed.

Lisk gains early access to pre-vetted deal flow through strategic partnerships with leading local incubators. Emerging markets have consistently delivered high venture returns, with annualized returns of 9-11% over the past decade. The Lisk EMpower Fund is designed to de-risk early-stage ventures and prepare them for global institutional investment in the stock market today.
