InvestMidwest 2026: Connecting Missouri's Best Startups with Investors in Kansas City
InvestMidwest, a premier event for entrepreneurs and investors, is set to return to Kansas City. The 2026 summit, to be held on April 21-22, promises to connect emerging, high-growth Missouri businesses with eager investors and strategic partners. The event is organised by a powerhouse quartet of venture experts, including Dr. William D. Paiva, Brett Calhoun, Christine Karslake, and Mike Jung.
The summit will feature industry tracks such as AgriFood, MedTech, and Digital Technologies, attracting a deep list of investors. The event is expected to foster connections and accelerate growth across the region. Notably, Brett Calhoun, a general partner at Redbud VC and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, will be part of the organising team. Mike Jung, managing director of Grit Road Ventures, is also involved, demonstrating their commitment to supporting entrepreneurs.
Christine Karslake, associate vice chancellor of Innovation at Missouri S&T, brings her expertise in venture capital and technology commercialization to the board. Dr. William D. Paiva, founder and managing partner of OLSF Ventures, adds over two decades of experience in early-stage healthcare venture capital. Together, they aim to showcase Missouri's best talent to investors regionally and nationally, fostering collaboration.
The InvestMidwest kickoff event will take place in Kansas City in September at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management on the UMKC campus, setting the stage for the April 2026 summit. The event is expected to advance the collaboration of the coasts and Missouri, providing a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with investors and accelerate growth.
