Hagen Resident, 68, Loses Six Figures in Online Investment Scam
A 68-year-old Hagen resident has fallen victim to an investment scam, losing a significant amount of money. The woman was lured in by an online ad promising high profits with minimal effort. The scam unfolded over several weeks, with the victim initially paying a low four-digit sum. As the scheme progressed, the scammers promised a six-figure profit, persuading the woman to make additional payments totaling another six figures. The Hagen Criminal Police have launched an investigation into the case. The police warn residents to be cautious and verify the legitimacy of online investment offers, especially those promising unrealistically high profits with low investment. The Hagen resident reported the investment fraud to the police on September 29, 2025. Authorities advise the public to be vigilant and informed about the seriousness of offers before transferring money to strangers, particularly when dealing with online investment schemes.
