Fire at Industrial Facility on Hellefelder Straße in Arnsberg

A fire broke out at an industrial facility on Hellefelder Straße in Arnsberg on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM, as reported by the Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg. Upon arrival, the fire department found a fire in a conveyor belt, causing an unclear smoke emission in the open.

The operational area was divided into three sections to better coordinate the numerous deployed forces. At its peak, 126 forces were fighting the fire, with additional forces from the Sauerland control center and the municipal breathing apparatus vehicle and a swap body with the breathing apparatus container of the Hochsauerlandkreis being deployed to the incident site.

To control and extinguish the fire, a turntable ladder was brought into position, and the pulper, into which the conveyor belt fed the paper residues, was controlled, extinguished, and partially emptied by the deployed forces. To protect an adjacent production building from the flames, on-site forces set up a 'barricade'.

The adjacent paper warehouse was precautionarily cooled by the installed sprinkler system, while the conveyor belt was cooled from the outside using water. The German Red Cross ensured the self-protection of the deployed forces with an ambulance, supplying them with drinks and warm meals.

The smoke was observed over the premises of the industrial operation, and the incident site was active for over eight hours. The news about the incident was transmitted by the Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg via news aktuell. The alarm level was raised to 'Fire 5 - Confirmed fire in an industrial building'.

The German Red Cross also played a crucial role in the operation, ensuring the safety and well-being of the deployed forces. Despite extensive efforts, the search results do not provide the name of the leader of the fire brigade incident command for the fire at the industrial facility on Hellefelder Straße in Arnsberg on Saturday morning. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety in industrial operations and the vital role that fire departments and emergency services play in protecting our communities.
