Airtel Business Fortifies Indian Railways' Cybersecurity with Multi-Year Deal
Airtel Business has signed a multi-year agreement with the Indian Railway Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) to fortify the cybersecurity of Indian Railways. The contract, valued at an undisclosed amount, will see Airtel Business providing advanced cybersecurity solutions to safeguard the digital infrastructure of Indian Railways.
The Airtel Secure platform will offer Indian Railways a centralised architecture, providing comprehensive visibility and real-time monitoring across 26 key locations. This will encompass sensitive customer data, payment details, and critical operational databases for ticketing, train tracking, freight, and signalling systems.
The robust security layer will include real-time monitoring, AI-driven threat detection, endpoint protection, patch and vulnerability management, and proactive dark web monitoring. Next-generation monitoring tools, powered by machine learning and behavioural analytics, will enable swift threat detection and response, achieving a mean-time-to-detect of under 20 seconds.
Airtel Business will oversee over 190,000 critical infrastructure assets for Indian Railways, ensuring the protection of sensitive information and operational efficiency. Dilip Kumar, EDIP - Railway Board, emphasised the importance of cybersecurity for Indian Railways, given the increased reliance on digital information and communication technologies.

The multi-year contract underscores Airtel Business' commitment to securing critical national infrastructure and protecting sensitive data.
