WilmerHale Scores Multiple Wins at the LMG Life Sciences Awards 2025

The annual LMG Life Sciences Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in Life Sciences legal practice over the past year, have honoured several leading practitioners and their firms. Among the winners, WilmerHale has emerged as a standout, with multiple accolades across various categories.

The prestigious awards, which are for leading practitioners and their firms in Life Sciences legal practice, will formally recognise the honourees at the Americas Awards Gala in New York on September 4, 2025.

Bill Lee, David Bassett, and Stuart Falber from WilmerHale have been named as General Patent Litigators of the Year in their respective regions. Bill Lee is the General Patent Litigator of the Year (New England), David Bassett is the General Patent Litigator of the Year (New York), and Stuart Falber is the Venture Capital Attorney of the Year.

In addition to these individual awards, WilmerHale has been named the General Patent Litigation Firm of the Year, the Life Cycle Firm of the Year - United States, and the Venture Capital Firm of the Year. The firm has also been shortlisted in the Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year (Branded) category.

Six partners of WilmerHale have been named to the shortlists for the annual LMG Life Sciences Awards. These include Lauren Leonard, who is the US Rising Star - Financial & Corporate, and Sarah Hogan, who is the Licensing & Collaboration Attorney of the Year.

Other firms shortlisted for the LMG Life Sciences Awards 2025 in various categories include Cooley, Fenwick & West, Goodwin Procter, Latham & Watkins, Ropes & Gray, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Gunderson Dettmer, Mintz, Arthur Cox, and Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has been shortlisted in three categories: Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year (Generic), Licensing and Collaboration Firm of the Year, and Venture Capital Firm of the Year. Individual attorneys named finalists from the firm include T.O. Kong for Hatch-Waxman Litigator of the Year (Generic) and Alex Key for Licensing and Collaboration Attorney of the Year.

Jing Liu, Ph.D., and Paul Chang, Ph.D., from Dickinson Wright have also been shortlisted. Jing Liu, Ph.D. is shortlisted for Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year in California, while Paul Chang, Ph.D. is shortlisted for US Rising Star in Intellectual Property.

Arthur Cox has also been shortlisted for ‘Ireland Firm of the Year’ in the EMEA LMG Life Sciences Awards 2025.

The awards span categories including corporate, regulatory, product liability, intellectual property, licensing, collaboration, Hatch-Waxman litigation, and venture capital. Winners will be announced at a gala event on September 4, 2025, in Manhattan.

WilmerHale has been recognized as the Venture Capital Firm of the Year, highlighting their success in finance and business ventures. The firm's billing, Bill Lee, is also the General Patent Litigator of the Year (New England), showcasing their expertise in patent litigation. Other shortlisted firms, such as Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Arthur Cox, are also acknowledged for their achievements in categories like intellectual property and EMEA Firm of the Year respectively.
