User Guidelines
CSIRO's Cosmos platform offers a variety of subscription plans for individuals and institutions interested in accessing its digital content related to science and technology. Here's a breakdown of the different types of subscriptions available:
Digital Subscriptions
A Digital Subscription grants access to the Cosmos website and digital magazine replicas. This type of subscription can be either a single-user Digital Subscription or an unlimited Digital subscription, such as an Enterprise or Site Licence.
For single-user Digital Subscriptions, it's important to note that the platform's terms and conditions prohibit sharing login details, which include usernames and passwords. Additionally, at no time can a single user Digital subscription be used to download and store the platform's issues or website content for the purpose of sharing with users not permitted within the subscription terms and conditions.
On the other hand, unlimited Digital subscriptions, like Enterprise or Site Licences, permit the use of the platform by the subscribing organisation, employees, students, and library visitors. However, these subscriptions should not be used to provide hosting or establish connections for users or organisations not working directly on behalf of the organisation.
Print Subscriptions
A Print Subscription is a paid subscription to the hard copy product of the platform. Recipients of Gift Subscriptions may also take ownership of their subscription through their online account settings. If a Print Subscription is cancelled before the end of the subscription term, a refund for the issues remaining on the subscription which have not been dispatched, minus a cancellation fee of $15, will be given. Shipping is by surface mail throughout Australia and sea mail overseas for Print Subscriptions.
Weekly Edition Subscription
A Weekly Edition Subscription is a paid subscription to exclusive content on the Cosmos website.
Enterprise Subscription
An Enterprise Subscription is a multi-user subscription, including one Print Subscription of the platform, access to the Cosmos website and digital magazine replicas.
Site Licence
A Site Licence is a multi-user subscription, including access to the Cosmos website and digital magazine replicas. It's important to note that Site licences which utilise a unique URL must not be shared outside of the institution which holds that subscription. Institutions found to be sharing their unique access to the platform's website will be contacted and potentially have their subscription terminated.
Gift Subscription
A Gift Subscription is a subscription package to Cosmos print and digital, with a term of twelve months commencing on the date of redemption by the gift recipient. Gift Subscriptions are non-refundable.
