The property, which stands out for its ship-like design, featuring porthole windows, curved lines, and pipe railings, underwent extensive renovations by Todd Michael Glaser and his wife. These renovations preserved signature elements like the stone-faced fireplace and glass-block windows while also including teak floors, refinished original wood flooring, and extensive system upgrades. The renovations earned the property a 2019 Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach award.
Palm Beach has a history of being home to former ambassadors, including those to Hungary, Morocco, and the UK. McCourt joins this roster with her purchase of the iconic Boat House. Prior to her ambassador role, McCourt was the CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers and founder of Jamie Enterprises. She stepped down as ambassador in 2021.
The price of the property was initially listed for sale at $24.95 million last year but was later reduced to $23.5 million. However, the exact sale price is not currently available, as the sale was made through a trust.
