urban development moving forward with City of Arnsberg's acquisition of land "Under Lüsenberg 6-10"

The city of Arnsberg has acquired a property under Lusenberg 6-10 for urban development, as decided in the Main and Finance Committee in March 2025. The property, which spans over 3,000 m², includes a semi-detached house, a former commercially used warehouse, and a production building.

The urban development of the area is expected to take place over the next three to five years. The residential building within the acquired property is planned to be made habitable by the end of 2025, with two refugee families set to be temporarily accommodated.

Michaela Röbke, head of the Urban Development I Building I Environment I Mobility department, stated that the acquisition offers an opportunity to address the demand for residential land in Old Arnsberg. Building rights already exist for the acquired area.

The warehouse and production building on the property are in a very poor condition and are no longer economically viable. It is planned to demolish these buildings by the end of 2025, which is part of the urban development plan. The hall on the property is also scheduled for demolition.

The former air-raid shelter within the property has been sealed. Clearing and felling works have already been initiated on the property. However, the future use of the residential property within the acquired area is yet to be clarified. No further details about the future use of the residential property have been provided.

The demolition of the warehouse and production building is a crucial step towards the urban development of the area. The city of Arnsberg looks forward to addressing the residential demand in Old Arnsberg and transforming this property into a vibrant part of the city.
