UK Embassy Opens Bilateral Programme Budget for 2015-2016 in Costa Rica and Nicaragua
The British Embassy in San Jose has opened its Bilateral Programme Budget (BPB) for the period 2015-2016, inviting proposals from eligible organizations in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The BPB is a funding channel provided by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, aiming to support projects in the areas of human rights, women's equality, and justice and security.
Eligible applicants include government institutions, NGOs, civil society organizations, universities, and research centers. Proposals must be submitted in English and follow the format provided in the Project Concept Form. The project submission process has two stages: Concept Bid and Full Bid. The maximum funding for projects is GBP £8,000, or GBP £16,000 for projects covering both countries. Past projects have included empowering women, raising awareness of human trafficking, and providing English language training.
The first round of project proposals will be received by the Embassy up to 20 March 2015. Approved projects must submit quarterly reports and a final evaluation. It's worth noting that the selection process for projects in the BPB is not fully described in the available documents, with no specific details regarding the application, evaluation criteria, or decision-making process for bilateral projects.
The British Embassy encourages eligible organizations to apply for the Bilateral Programme Budget, contributing to the UK's support for human rights, women's equality, and justice and security in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The deadline for the first round of proposals is 20 March 2015, with approved projects expected to submit regular reports and a final evaluation.
