Two Convicted in Unemployment Benefit Fraud Cases by Osnabrück Customs
The Main Customs Office Osnabrück' Financial Control Black Work department has successfully concluded two investigations, resulting in convictions. A 29-year-old man from Löhne was sentenced to a suspended prison term for unlawfully receiving unemployment benefits, while a 40-year-old man from Quakenbrück was fined for concealing employment from the employment agency.
The 29-year-old Löhne resident was found guilty of failing to report employment and unlawfully receiving €600 in unemployment benefits. He was sentenced to a six-month prison term, suspended for three years. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man from Quakenbrück was fined €1,500 for concealing his employed activity from the Employment Agency, causing a damage of around €760. Both cases were investigated and prosecuted by the Main Customs Office Osnabrück' Financial Control Black Work department.
