They Can't Hide It: Trump's Labor Sec Proclaims 'Golden Age' has Arrived After Impressive Jobs Report
Trump's 'golden era' has arrived, according to the labor secretary, promising increased wealth for the public.
U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer shares her enthusiasm over the impressive April jobs report and highlights sectors fueling American growth.
The Trump administration can't contain its satisfaction with a better-than-anticipated April jobs report, with Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer declaring that the golden age is here.
"Trump's been harping on it nonstop – he said the golden age was coming. And I'm telling you, it's damn well here," Chavez-DeRemer exclaimed on "Varney & Co." Friday.
"This is another fantastic jobs report. Better than projected, just what the market anticipated. Couldn't be prouder to serve under this president with these numbers," Chavez-DeRemer continued. "And as I hit the road, these figures are only gonna keep climbing."
The Department of Labor reported on Friday that employers added an impressive 177,000 jobs in April. This figure surpassed economists' expectations, though it was slightly less than the 185,000 jobs added in March, initially estimated at 228,000.

The unemployment rate sat steady at 4.2%, as forecasted, while the April jobs report, released immediately after President Donald Trump's 100-day mark, edged out expectations with 177,000 new payrolls.
Government payrolls grew by 10,000 positions across all levels of government in April. The decline of 9,000 jobs in the federal sector was offset by gains of 6,000 in state government and 13,000 in local government.
The health care sector also saw notable growth, while manufacturing payrolls shrank by 1,000 jobs.

Despite a dip in manufacturing, Chavez-DeRemer insists that she's not discouraged one bit.
"People want their representatives nearby, and that's exactly what we're witnessing," Chavez-DeRemer noted. "With the increased investments from large corporations into the American workforce and manufacturing sector, transportation, and health care, I've got a mission to ensure that the workforce for manufacturing skyrockets."
"We'll go above and beyond to ensure that our workforce is well-equipped, reskilled, and up-to-date because that is what the American worker deserves," Chavez-DeRemer concluded.
