Trains will be replaced by buses on a commuter route situated north of Copenhagen.
Heads Up, Copenhagen Commuters! 🚂🚏
Say hello to summertime inconveniences 👋☀️
Get ready for some major changes on one of the busiest rail routes into Copenhagen. Over the summer months, trains will be canned for more than six weeks on the S-Bahn line between Svanemøllen and Hillerød. Fret not, as you'll be offered compensation and replacement buses will be available.
A Word from the Professionals 🗣️
Between May 2nd and June 1st, and again from June 23rd to July 11th, Denmark's track operator, Banedanmark, will close both tracks on the S-Bahn line due to ongoing maintenance. Tony Bispeskov, head of information at DSB, warns, "During the track work in May, DSB will replace the S-trains with train buses."
He advises commuters to "check [the] Rejseplanen [app] to see what is fastest and easiest." For some travelers, it might be quicker to take train buses across, like from Hillerød to Værløse, and then continue with the S-trains along Farumbanen towards Copenhagen.
