Dresden, Germany - A construction project set to begin on Friday in Dresden-Pieschen on Leipzig Street will cause disruptions and closures during the autumn holidays. The project, focused on replacing worn-out switches at the height of Stern Street, will impact tram lines 4, 9, and 13.

During the construction, there will be no tram service on lines 9 and 13 between Trachenberger Platz and Friedens Street. Instead, these lines will be replaced by buses of line EV13 between Friedens Street and Kaditz via Bürger Street and Mickten. Tram line 9 will not continue beyond Trachenberger Platz during the construction.

Tram line 13 will end at Friedens Street in the Neustadt and become line 4 there. The existing replacement service EV4 from Radebeul will be extended from Weinböhla to Anton-/Leipziger Street for tram line 4. From Kaditz via Mickten, there will be bus replacement services for all three affected lines.

Cars can drive cityward past the construction site, but will be rerouted via Rehefelder and Wurzner Street. Both replacement services for lines 9 and 13 will run cityward via Rehefelder and Wurzner Street.

Tram line 9 will run shortened to Anton-/Leipziger Street and then via Großenhainer Street to Trachenberger Platz, where it will turn around. Tram line 4 will run from Laubegast to Anton-/Leipziger Street, then via Großenhainer Street to Fritz-Reuter Street, and finally to Prohlis.

The Mickten stop on line 64 will be served by the replacement services for lines 9 and 13. The cost of the replacement is 1.3 million euros, but no new information about the completion date or cost of the construction project was provided. The construction project should be completed by the end of the holidays on October 16, 3 am.

For detailed and up-to-date information on tram line alterations during construction in Dresden-Pieschen, it is recommended to check the official Dresden public transport authority's website or local government announcements.
