Traffic blockade on significant routes and passageways in the Heilbronn vicinity for drivers

In the coming weeks, several road closures and detours will affect commuters in Heilbronn and Weinsberg-Wimmental. Here's a breakdown of the affected areas and suggested alternatives.

Heilbronn

  • Construction work on Saarlandstraße is ongoing until September 19th, where a gas line is being relocated as part of network expansion. Appropriate traffic management will be implemented during the construction work.
  • The Brackenheimer Straße in Böckingen will remain closed until Friday, August 22nd. Traffic will be rerouted via Bruggemannstraße and Austraße. Drivers should expect traffic disruptions during the closure.
  • The Karl-Wüst Bridge will be closed for vehicle traffic from August 4th to 8th for essential surface work on pedestrian crossings.
  • The central route through Flein around the town hall roundabout has been fully closed for several days due to repair work.
  • Pedestrian and bicycle traffic, as well as bus traffic, are not affected by the closures. Bicycle traffic is not affected, and the signposted bicycle paths remain unrestricted.

Weinsberg-Wimmental

  • The county road 2113 will be fully closed from Monday to approximately Thursday, August 4-7. A local detour is signposted, and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
  • The county road 2124 in Obersulm will be closed from Monday to Thursday, August 4-7.
  • The county road 2155 in Talheim will remain fully closed until approximately Monday, August 11.

Alternative Transport Options

For those using the city bus line 2 in Böckingen, the "Seestraße" and "Jäkleinstraße" stops, both east and west, will not be served during the construction work. Alternative stops will be set up on Seestraße.

The B27/Neckartalstraße can still be reached from the Sontheimer Bridge, but the Sontheimer Bridge from Klingenberg cannot be crossed due to the closure of Brackenheimer Straße.

Note

As of early August 2025, there are no specific publicly announced ongoing road closures or detours in Heilbronn and its immediate surroundings during the current summer holidays. However, the Stuttgart 21 rail project may affect rail lines and stations primarily in Stuttgart and its vicinity, not Heilbronn directly.

For the most detailed and updated information on local road closures and detours, it is recommended to visit official local government or traffic authority websites, such as Heilbronn city’s transport department or Baden-Württemberg’s road authority portals.
