Traffic Alterations in Bamberg: Detours and Restrictions Beginning in July
🔥🚧 Starting July 1, 2025, "Am Heidelsteig" in Bamberg will be under renovation, causing a full closure to traffic for approximately ten days. Pedestrians can wander through the construction site, but motor vehicle detours are necessary.
With the need to repair a pavement collapse near Heidelsteig School, the road between Veit-Stoß-Straße and Riemenschneiderstraße will be off-limits to cars from Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to around July 11, 2025. The city of Bamberg has announced this in a press release.
For those driving, follow detour routes via Veit-Stoß-Straße, Grafensteinstraße, and Riemenschneiderstraße. A separate detour signposted for cyclists will be available. Access to the Heidelsteig School parking lot is only accessible from Memmelsdorfer Straße or Riemenschneiderstraße.
