Traffic Alert: Major artery alongside the Baltic Coast temporarily blocked to automobiles and public transportation vehicles
The city administration has announced that Friedrich-Loeffler-Straße will be closed from July 28 to August 1 for essential construction work on a drinking water pipeline. The Greifswald utility company will be carrying out the work, and pedestrians and cyclists will be able to pass through during the closure, although cyclists will need to dismount and push their bikes.
During the closure, public bus transportation lines 2 and 3, in the direction of Wieck, will not serve the stops Tierpark, Campus Loefflerstraße, Rathaus, and Knopfstraße. Line 2 will still stop at the Rathaus, and Line 3 will run regularly to the station. However, buses will be affected by the full closure in the city center, and detours will be signposted during the closure.
Those heading to the station will have to go via the Europa junction, and delays should be expected in public bus transportation. For further information on the restrictions in public transport and the changed line routes, please contact the Mobility Center at the ZOB or call 03834 532424.
The Greifswald utility company has apologised for the inconvenience caused by the necessary construction work and will inform residents about the construction work. The street between Steinbecker- and Hunnenstraße will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Streets like Friedrich-Loeffler-Straße might be closed due to various reasons such as construction work, road maintenance, festivals, or other events that require road access restriction.
