Trade modifications effective from 1st July
In the Gomel region of Belarus, the State Control Committee has taken action against stores that failed to comply with new regulations on product marking, following the implementation of a mandatory system for marking and scanning goods on July 1.
The KGB, in a report by "Mirror", revealed violations in specific stores located in Petrikov and Khoiniki. The discovery was made on the very first day of the new regulations, with more than 8,500 units of unmarked products found in the two towns.
The unmarked goods, estimated to be worth approximately 300,000 rubles, included items such as shoes, bedding, and towels. As a result, violators of the new regulations were fined more than 90,000 rubles.
However, a search of publicly indexed sources has not yielded specific details regarding the violators, the fines, or the exact violations related to product marking in the Gomel region. For more precise information on KGB enforcement actions and specific violators, it is recommended to consult official Belarusian government releases, the Belarusian KGB’s statements, or local Gomel regional administration communications.
It is important to note that the turnover of unmarked goods is now prohibited in Belarus, as part of the new regulations aimed at ensuring transparency and compliance in the market. The materials of the KGB's check were handed over to the tax service for further investigation and action.
This incident underscores the importance of adhering to new regulations and the potential consequences for non-compliance. As Belarus continues to implement new measures to improve its market, it is crucial for businesses to stay informed and comply with the rules to avoid penalties and maintain a good standing in the community.
