Thriving Landscape in Post-Earthquake Regions: Marche
In a significant development for the Marche region in Italy, the BIM Tronto consortium has announced the launch of a new project named "Made in Piceno - Well-being and Quality of Life." This initiative is aimed at regenerating the areas affected by the earthquake, with a particular focus on the hilly and mountainous inland municipalities.
The Mountain River Basin of the Tronto is the implementing subject of this project, which falls under the regional three-year program provided by Marche region law no. 23 of December 2023. The BIM Tronto, one of the 64 BIM Consortia in Italy, includes 17 municipalities of the Marche Region.
The project's model of development is based on the enhancement of the agro-food tradition, with the BIM Tronto aiming to create and develop a network of experiential paths promoting healthy eating and lifestyle. These paths will include meetings with producers, guided tastings, sensory laboratories, hikes, meditation moments, artistic workshops, and cultural performances.
The project's financial availability for this specific area is 230,000 euros. The BIM Tronto will coordinate with the Mountain Union of the Azzurri Mountains, involved municipalities, local producers, cultural and social associations, accommodation structures, and tourist realities.
Notable events such as "Travertino Divino," the Spring Festival of Comunanza, and the celebration of Santa Teopista will be included in the project, as part of the BIM Tronto's commitment to policies that favor economic and social progress, support tourism, local economy, and artisan productions.
The BIM Tronto's vision includes the creation of links between products, territories, culture, traditions, and historical memory. The project's timeline includes activities that were redefined by the end of June.
The project acts in the seismic area, with a prevalence of the entire mountainous part, and the BIM Tronto is committed to improving and servicing the post-seismic area to transform it into a land of well-being and quality of life.
