In a recent development, Tether, a leading stablecoin issuer, has released its Q2 2025 attestation report, outlining its strategic investments and infrastructure development plans for the year.

According to the report, Tether's reserves support its 100% reserve claim, with a total of $162.5 billion in reserves as of June 30, 2025. Notably, over $127 billion of these reserves are held in U.S. Treasuries, making Tether one of the largest private holders of U.S. government debt. This holding provides secure, on-chain access to U.S. dollar liquidity at scale, aligning with public monetary goals and the broader regulatory framework developing around digital currencies.

Tether's financial performance is impressive, with year-to-date profits totalling $5.7 billion. Of this, $3.1 billion comes from operational earnings, while the remaining $2.6 billion is attributed to mark-to-market gains on bitcoin and gold reserves. The company's net profit for Q2 2025 stood at $4.9 billion.

The report also underscores Tether's strategic shift from passive asset management to active, long-term ecosystem building. The company has already deployed $4 billion towards U.S.-based infrastructure development this year, with plans to broaden the utility and accessibility of digital dollars worldwide.

In terms of infrastructure development, Tether's relocation to El Salvador under the country's Digital Asset Issuance Law marks a key regulatory and operational milestone, enhancing its global expansion and regulatory compliance. The company continues to build operational resilience by maintaining a stable shareholder equity of $5.47 billion as a solvency buffer.

Tether's strategic direction is also reflected in its investments. The company has reinvested heavily in strategic ventures, including XXI Capital and the Rumble Wallet project. The USD₮ supply rose by $13 billion in Q2 2025, and a total of 157.1 billion USD₮ has been issued as of June 30, 2025.

The company's reserves exceed liabilities by $5.47 billion, with the excess reserves made entirely of liquid assets. This growing reserves and profitability align with Tether's wider mission to innovate in digital dollar innovation.

USD₮ now plays a critical role in remittances, payments, and on-chain finance across 150+ countries. The growth and strategic direction of Tether underscore its commitment to transform global finance and foster a digital infrastructure for a dollar-based global economy.
