**Tesla Boosts Sales and Introduces Promotion in China**

Tesla, the leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced a promotion in China that runs from June 5 to June 30, 2025. The promotion aims to boost sales and secure the company's position in the competitive Chinese EV market.

The promotion offers several incentives for customers. For instance, there's an RMB 8,000 (approx. US$1,110) discount on premium paint options, an RMB 8,000 insurance subsidy, and select models come with five-year interest-free financing for Chinese customers.

One of the key highlights of the promotion is the Model 3 rear-wheel drive, which is priced at ¥235,500. This variant offers a CLTC-rated range of 634 km, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. The Model 3 rear-wheel drive is eligible for the ¥8,000 paint option credit, and delivery is expected within 1 to 3 weeks.

The Model Y rear-wheel drive, priced at ¥263,500, offers a CLTC-rated range of 593 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 201 km/h. The Model Y rear-wheel drive, like the Model 3, is part of the promotion and eligible for the paint option credit.

Tesla Points, valued at ¥1 per point, can be combined with cash for purchases. They can be used for maintenance, Supercharging, in-car software upgrades, and even Tesla Bot accessories. Customers who place a new order and take delivery by June 30 will receive an ¥8,000 paint option credit.

Referring new buyers during this period will earn 800 Tesla Points. The promotion also offers extra incentives on Model 3, Model Y, and other S3XY series vehicles.

In the first half of 2025, Tesla's retail sales in China's domestic market totalled 163,338 units, a 0.31% year-on-year decrease. However, Tesla China sold 71,599 units in June 2025, marking a 0.8% year-over-year increase and a 16.1% rise compared to May 2025. This ended an eight-month decline and signaled stabilizing demand and production at the Shanghai plant, which produces Model 3 and Model Y for China and export markets.

Despite the recent growth, Tesla's retail share of the Chinese BEV market dropped to 5.14% in April from 11.47% in March. The company has been focusing on strengthening domestic sales, with exports falling sharply (down over 56% since May), reflecting Tesla’s strategic emphasis on securing the Chinese market via promotions and inventory management.

In conclusion, Tesla's June 2025 promotion in China combines modest price incentives, financing benefits, and product improvements, especially for Model 3 and Model Y Long Range versions, contributing to the first sales growth in months and solidifying Tesla's position in the competitive Chinese EV market.

  1. The promotion doubles as a strategic business move for Tesla, aiming to secure their position in the competitive Chinese EV market, a significant industry sector.
  2. To attract investors, Tesla is offering incentives such as discounts, insurance subsidies, and interest-free financing for Chinese customers, a move aligned with investing strategies in the finance sector.
  3. The automotive sector is embracing technology, as demonstrated by Tesla's promotion, which includes benefits like Tesla Points that can be used for car maintenance, Supercharging, and software upgrades, reflecting the growing interplay between technology and transportation.
