**Taos-Based Rolling Still Distillery Announces Expansion Plans**
In a significant move for the local economy, Rolling Still Distillery, a family-run business based in Taos, New Mexico, has announced ambitious expansion plans following the receipt of state funding and a move to a new manufacturing facility.
**Key Expansion Details**
- **State Support and Funding** - The distillery was awarded $50,000 from the New Mexico Economic Development Department, with Taos County acting as the fiscal agent for these funds. - In addition, Rolling Still Distillery was granted Job Training Incentive Program funds to train up to five new workers.
- **Manufacturing Relocation** - The distillery will be moving its operations to a newly acquired 5,500-square-foot warehouse at 1310 Paseo del Pueblo Norte in Taos. This building, previously a gas station, had been abandoned for 17 years and will undergo rehabilitation for the distillery’s use.
- **Job Creation** - The expansion project is anticipated to create 26 new full-time jobs, with the funding also being used to support the training of up to five new staff members.
- **Timeline** - The project, including the warehouse rehabilitation and relocation, is expected to be completed by May 2026.
This expansion aims to boost Rolling Still Distillery’s production capacity, create local employment opportunities, and revitalize a long-vacant property in downtown Taos.
Rolling Still Distillery, founded by Nicole Barady, Liza Barrett, Scott Barady, and Irion in 2018, currently employs 16 full-time workers and distributes its craft spirits to stores in Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. The company plans to hire 26 new, full-time employees as part of this expansion.
