Takealot Launches New Logistics Arm, TFS, to Expand Reach
Takealot, South Africa's leading online retailer, is expanding its reach with the launch of Takealot Fulfilment Services (TFS). This new standalone business offers third-party delivery, warehousing, and freight services, positioning Takealot as a key logistics partner for various sectors. Founded by Franziska Steiner, who also helms Takealot, TFS aims to serve businesses seeking affordable and reliable logistics solutions, especially those underserved by traditional courier services. TFS offers a range of services, including warehousing, freight, last-mile delivery, and order fulfilment. TFS leverages the robust systems that power Takealot's food delivery arm, Mr D, enabling consistent service across major South African cities and towns. With Takealot handling over one million deliveries each month and working with more than 4,500 contracted drivers, TFS has a solid foundation to build upon. The launch of Takealot Fulfilment Services reflects the company's strategy to deepen its market hold and create a new revenue stream. By extending its business model to logistics as a service, Takealot is set to become a major player in South Africa's logistics landscape.
