Strength in union of Iberian conjunction

In a historic first, Christian business leaders from Spain and Portugal gathered in the Spanish city of Vigo in May, marking the beginning of a potential new chapter in collaboration between the two countries. The meeting, organized by the Christian Business Leaders (LEC) from Spain and the Association of Christian Professionals and Entrepreneurs (ASPEC) from Portugal, was a significant step towards fostering stronger relationships.

The gathering, translated with permission from the Líderes Empresariales initiative of the Spanish evangelical business network Tres-e, was later published by Evangelical Focus under the title 'The great potential of Iberian synergy'.

During the meeting, Hugo Pinto delivered a lecture titled Evangelism through the strategy of Jesus, while Abraham Maldonado, pastor in Malaga and member of the LEC steering committee, spoke about the principles of leadership that come from Jesus.

The OneMoreYearEF campaign, a sustainability challenge for those committed to the mission of Evangelical Focus, was also mentioned in the article.

LEC, with its Spanish news website Protestante Digital, and ASPEC, an organization with a well-established history in Portugal that focuses on evangelism and has contacts with local churches, presented their ongoing projects at the meeting. However, the details of these projects were not provided.

ASPEC is currently developing a directory called Parceiros de confiança to foster synergies between entrepreneurs across the country. The organization also organizes over 20 local prayer groups for the fellowship of business people and provides materials for evangelism (Alpha, Timothy Project) and personal and professional growth.

Pinto discussed challenges and opportunities faced by Christian entrepreneurs and presented tools for evangelism and business management. Maldonado emphasized the importance of taking responsibility in every area, particularly in the home, while Ángel González explained the vision and mission of LEC, which supports Christian entrepreneurs, fosters fellowship, prayer, and the application of Christian principles in the work and personal spheres.

The participants of the meeting positively evaluated the collaboration between Portugal and Spain, indicating a promising future for their collaboration. The meeting concluded with a discussion on how Christian entrepreneurs can collaborate for the advancement of the Gospel.

Approximately 30 entrepreneurs from both countries attended the meeting, marking a significant step towards strengthening bonds between Portugal and Spain through shared Christian values. While specific initiatives by Christian entrepreneurs are not well-documented, these collaborative efforts could involve cultural exchange programs, joint business ventures, or supporting religious missions that span both countries.

This gathering serves as a reminder of the rich Christian heritage shared by Portugal and Spain, and the potential for collaboration in areas like missionary work, economic ventures, and cultural exchanges. Such efforts could leverage shared Christian values to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

  1. Christian business leaders discussed potential collaborative initiatives in finance and business during the meeting, such as joint ventures, cultural exchange programs, or supporting religious missions that span both Spain and Portugal.
  2. LEC, an organization focused on supporting Christian entrepreneurs and fostering fellowship, prayer, and the application of Christian principles in the work and personal spheres, also emphasizes the importance of financial and business management in their initiatives.
