Sita to Revolutionize Singapore Ferry Terminals with Smart Path Tech
Sita, a leading technology provider for the air transport industry, has signed a significant deal with Singapore Cruise Center (SCC) to revolutionize passenger processing capabilities at its ferry terminals. The project aims to enhance the passenger experience and pave the way for future growth in the maritime industry.
Sita's President of Asia Pacific, Sumesh Patel, believes that seamless travel across different modes will drive industry growth. To achieve this, digital infrastructure upgrades are crucial. The company has partnered with SCC to deliver advanced technology solutions, including 10 Sita Smart Path Bag Drop solutions and 13 new Sita Smart Path Gates for streamlined bag check-in and efficient boarding.
The project involves the installation of 45 Sita Smart Path Kiosks across both Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) and HarbourFront Ferry Terminal (HFFT), enabling future biometric authentication. SCC will also integrate its new cloud-based Departure Control System via Sita Flex, providing agile and responsive passenger processing and custom application development. The upgraded terminals are expected to handle about 7 million passengers annually, modernizing the passenger experience and unlocking future possibilities for the maritime passenger industry.
The third annual CiTTi Awards will celebrate these achievements and innovations in intelligent transport systems on 26 November 2024 in London. While the exact timeline for the Sita project with Singapore Cruise Center has not been publicly disclosed, the implementation of Sita's Smart Path hardware and Flex as a Service is set to transform the passenger experience at SCC's ferry terminals.
