Seeking Job Applicants: Position for Board Chair
Pasture for Life, a pioneering organisation dedicated to sustainable farming, is currently seeking a new Chair for its Board of Directors. This opportunity presents a vital pathway for livestock farming to prove its relevance for the future.
The role of the Chair is pivotal, especially at this pivotal moment for Pasture for Life and the wider food and farming sectors. As Chair, you will lead board meetings and organisation governance, provide strategic leadership and support to the CEO or Executive Director, serve as a liaison between the board and management, ensure effective board recruitment, development, and performance, and represent the organisation publicly and support fundraising efforts.
Requirements for the role typically include prior board experience, leadership skills, an understanding of the organisation's mission, and availability for meetings and events. Terms for the role usually last 2-3 years, but these vary per organisation.
Interested candidates should send an up-to-date CV and cover letter by midnight on 14th March. The first interviews for the Chair position will commence in March, and the interviews will be flexible to accommodate the needs of the interviewee in terms of time and location. There will be two interview rounds for the Chair position, with the final round being in-person at a location to be confirmed.
The successful candidate will be co-opted onto the Board of Directors until the AGM in October 2025, where they will be up for election to the board following a vote of members. The AGM is scheduled for October 2025, nine months from the date of this news article.
