Russian Billionaires See Wealth Surge in 2025, Led by Usmanov and Durov
Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov has seen a significant boost in his wealth in the first nine months of 2025. His fortune has grown, partly due to strategic investments in technology and mining sectors, and an expansion of holdings in metals and telecommunications.
Usmanov, the largest shareholder of Metalloinvest, has seen his wealth surge this year. Meanwhile, Pavel Durov, co-founder of Telegram, has also experienced a substantial increase in his fortune. Since the beginning of 2025, Durov's wealth has grown by $4.82 billion, reaching $15.8 billion.
This trend is not isolated. The total wealth of Russia's richest businessmen has collectively increased by $19.681 billion in the first nine months of 2025.
The increase in wealth for these Russian businessmen reflects a strong performance in various sectors, with technology and mining playing significant roles. However, it's important to note that these figures are based on the first nine months of the year and may change by the end of 2025.
