A Transylvanian Retail Revolution: URBANO Shopping & Living

Prepare for a shopping and entertainment revolution in Florești, Transylvania, as URBANO Shopping & Living, a €100 million development project, takes shape. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this 25-hectare project will transform the landscape, becoming the largest shopping park in the region.

The development, led by URBANO Group, promises a vibrant mix of retail, entertainment, office spaces, and green areas. Future visitors can look forward to exploring a DIY store, a cash & carry hypermarket, supermarkets, furniture and decoration outlets, clothing and footwear shops, health and beauty centers, dining options, event halls, and electric vehicle charging stations.

With a focus on sustainability, the project incorporates over 5 hectares of green spaces, energy-efficient management systems, renewable energy options, and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and bicycles. This commitment to green initiatives reflects the project's dedication to supporting sustainable development in the region.

The project's potential impact on local employment and economic activity is significant. URBANO Shopping & Living is expected to attract a nearby population of over 150,000 people and generate more than 500 jobs during construction and afterward.

Banca Transilvania, the largest bank in Romania and Southeast Europe, is providing over €16 million in financing for this ambitious development. Cosmin Călin, Senior Executive Director for Large Companies, Structured Finance and Factoring at Banca Transilvania, believes such developments can create a broader ecosystem for further real estate investments.

Alexandru Șerban, co-founder of URBANO Group, shares this optimism, expecting the new commercial park to have a significant impact on residents in the western area of the Cluj Metropolitan Zone. The development is intended to boost the local community through improved accessibility, mobility, and environmentally friendly solutions.
