Yakutsk: Asphalt Concrete Road Repairs Ahead of Schedule

Under the national projects "Safe and Quality Roads" and "Infrastructure for Life," the contractor "Roads of Sakha" is set to commence asphalt concrete laying on a 12.6-kilometer stretch of road from the Nam highway to the Kanagalas microdistrict in Yakutsk, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Capital repairs on this site began earlier this year as part of the national projects. Road workers have already installed 12 culverts and laid 6 kilometers of the lower asphalt concrete layer ahead of schedule. Currently, the project involves the installation of curbs and mounds for lighting supports and road signs.

In late May, roadworkers plan to continue asphalt paving for another 6 kilometers. Upon completion, the site will feature 12 bus stops and a parking lot. For road safety, the contractor will install approximately 9,226 meters of barriers, 392 meters of guardrails, 336 noise barriers, 222 signal posts, 235 road signs, and 179 street lighting poles.

The access road to the Kanagalas microdistrict forms part of the republic's backbone road network, serving the Kanagalas coal mine and the Kanagalas Industrial Park.

Those interested in the status of this project can find updates on the official websites of the 'Infrastructure for Life' national project or the local government of Yakutsk. Alternatively, contacting local authorities responsible for infrastructure development in Yakutsk may provide the most accurate and up-to-date information. The media often reports on significant infrastructure projects, so checking recent articles might also offer insights.

In the ongoing road repair project, the focus will shift from installation of curbs and mounds to asphalt paving, specifically for a 6-kilometer stretch, starting in late May. With the laying of asphalt concrete, the project will overlap with the finance and transportation industries, as the project aims to improve both safety and accessibility in the Yakutsk's industry-focused areas like the Kanagalas coal mine and Industrial Park.
