Return of Employee Benefits Specialist to Faegre Drinker Law Firm
Cynthia Lee has rejoined Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath as counsel in their Minneapolis office, bringing with her over two and a half decades of experience in the field of employee benefits and executive compensation.
Lee, who previously worked at the international law firm for over a decade, has a wealth of knowledge in employee benefit plans and the regulatory and practical considerations involved in managing them effectively for corporate clients. Her expertise spans across various sectors, having advised Fortune 500 companies, universities, and group health plans.
In her new role, Lee will be working closely with Summer Conley, the leader of Faegre Drinker's benefits and executive compensation group. Conley expressed her excitement at welcoming Lee back to the firm, stating that her collaborative approach and extensive knowledge will be beneficial to Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath's clients.
Prior to rejoining Faegre Drinker, Lee spent time at Allianz Life where she worked on defined benefit pension plans and executive compensation issues. At Allianz Life, she advised settlor and fiduciary committees on plan governance matters, and counselled covered entities on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy and security rules.
Lee's experience also extends to working with tax-exempt church and tribal employers on the special rules relevant to the plans they sponsor. She has a deep understanding of the Internal Revenue Code and related state and federal laws and regulations.
Conley is confident that Lee's return to the firm underscores her continued role in providing sophisticated legal advice in this specialized area. Lee's expertise in Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) compliance, coupled with her knowledge in the design, implementation, and administration of welfare benefits and retirement plans, makes her an invaluable asset to the firm.
