Rafiki Revolutionizes Africa's Professional Services Subcontracting
Rafiki, a UK-based startup with South African roots, is transforming Africa's professional services subcontracting landscape. Led by entrepreneur Greg Cooke, Rafiki has integrated a fractional talent community into its SaaS platform, tapping into the continent's shift towards collaborative, micro-agency work models.
Cooke, who serves as the company's Growth and Product lead, had his 'aha' moment while working with a German client. He realised that legacy systems were inadequate for subcontracting and collaboration. Thus, Rafiki was born, aiming to streamline cross-border subcontracting using stablecoin rails and multi-party invoicing, collapsing complex engagements into a single process.
The startup targets agencies, independents, and small businesses operating within Africa's growing professional services corridors. Rafiki is backed by investors such as the Baobab Network, Jobtech Alliance, CVLabs, and founder-angel investors, and is currently in private beta. Cooke envisions Africa's fractional economy becoming a global powerhouse, driven by collective value creation rather than just cost-cutting, a common misconception he seeks to dispel.
Rafiki embeds a fractional talent community into its SaaS, fostering collaboration and growth in Africa's freelance economy. Led by Greg Cooke, who finds inspiration in running and music, the startup is poised to reshape Africa's professional services subcontracting scene, backed by prominent investors and driven by a vision of collective value creation.
