Polish authorities take action
In the Westpfalz region, a series of traffic control operations over the weekend resulted in several incidents of alcohol-related violations. The following is a summary of the reported incidents, as transmitted by the Police Headquarters Westpfalz via news aktuell.
On Saturday evening at 21:45, a 33-year-old man was stopped during a traffic control in Erfenbacher Tal. His blood alcohol level was found to be over 2.00 promille, leading to the confiscation of his driver's license.
Shortly after midnight, at 02:21, a 20-year-old youth on an e-scooter was stopped in the Salzstraße. His blood alcohol level was over 0.50 promille. He was prohibited from continuing his journey, and an administrative offenses procedure was initiated.
Around 23:30 on Saturday, a 17-year-old teenager was stopped on an e-scooter in Vogelwoogstraße. His blood alcohol level was over 2.00 promille, and he was prohibited from continuing his journey.
The incidents continued into Sunday morning. At 01:20, a 42-year-old man was stopped during a traffic control in Denisstraße. His blood alcohol level was under 0.50 promille, and he was prohibited from continuing his journey.
At 02:15, a 21-year-old man was stopped in a car during a traffic control in Zollamtstraße. His blood alcohol level was under 0.50 promille. He was advised not to drive.
While the head of the Polizeidirektion Westpfalz in 2023 was not explicitly named in the search results, as of August 2025, Thomas Lederer was leading the Polizeiinspektion Wörth (part of Westpfalz), and Alexander Graczyk succeeded him in September 2025. This suggests that Lederer was likely the leader in 2023.
