Celebration and Controversy: Block Menu's 30th Anniversary and Christina Block's Ongoing Trial

Block Menu, the renowned food manufacturer, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and inaugurated a new building in Zarrentin am Schalsee. This expansion boosted their production space to roughly 13,600 square meters, following eight expansions. A total of around 27 million euros was invested in the Sudan building, machinery, and technology. The company, based in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, employs 200 people and caters to its own gastronomic operations and retail stores.

Eugen Block, the founder of Block House steakhouse chain, and his daughter Christina (52) chose to maintain silence on personal matters during the celebration. However, Christina Block, along with six other defendants, will stand trial in the Hamburg Regional Court, starting July 11th.

Tracing back to late April, the Hamburg Public Prosecutor's Office laid charges of allegedly abducting two of Christina Block's children from Denmark on New Year's Eve 2024. After a court order, the mother was compelled to return her children to Denmark. Christina Block has been embroiled in a long-standing custody dispute with her ex-husband over their two youngest children, who reside with him in Denmark.

According to the indictment, Christina Block, in collaboration with the head of a Hamburg security firm, is accused of orchestrating the violent removal of her 2010-born daughter and 2013-born son from their father's care. Christina Block's lawyer, Otmar Kury, has continuously refuted this claim, instead pointing the finger at the children's late grandmother as the mastermind behind the action.

Recent search results, as of June 2025, do not indicate any updated developments regarding this trial. It may be essential to consult specialized legal news sources or German local news outlets for any potential new information on this ongoing case.
