Parking revenues in Krasnodar forecasted to reach approximately 1 billion rubles, according to city officials.
In the city of Krasnodar, a series of changes have been implemented in the parking sector, aiming to boost revenue for urban mobility and infrastructure improvements.
As of early August, 323 additional paid parking spots have been added to the city, bringing the total number of parking lots to 279 with a capacity of 12,245 spaces. This expansion follows an earlier announcement in which an additional 600 parking spaces were opened this year.
The decision to introduce paid parking in previously free areas has been met with some controversy, but the authorities maintain that the funds collected from parking fees and fines will be directed towards the road fund. This fund is intended for the repair of roadways, renovation of sidewalks, bus stops, and other aspects of road infrastructure in Krasnodar.
The head of Krasnodar, Naumov, stated that one of the main tasks in the parking sector is currently combating the concealment of license plates. The administration aims to increase parking revenue to 1 billion rubles by the end of the year, a significant increase from the 800 million rubles generated in 2024.
According to recent reports, parking fees amounted to 224 million rubles, while fines totaled 312 million rubles from January 2025 to August 12. As a result, over 536 million rubles have been received into the city budget from parking fees and fines since the start of the year.
The administration also plans to expand the network to 14,500 parking spaces, suggesting a continued focus on improving parking facilities in the city.
It is worth noting that, while many Russian cities are increasing their focus on urban mobility and infrastructure improvements, specific data on Krasnodar’s parking fee revenue and its allocation for city improvements between 2024 and 2025 is not readily available. For verified, up-to-date details, it is recommended to consult official Krasnodar city government financial reports or local news sources that cover municipal budget changes.
