P&G Exits Pakistan After 30 Years, Shifts to Distributor Model

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced it will cease operations and activity in Pakistan. The decision, after over three decades in the market, will see the company shift to a distributor model to continue serving Pakistani consumers. P&G first entered Pakistan in 1991, growing to become one of the country's leading consumer goods providers. However, the company has now decided that a third-party distribution model is the best way to serve Pakistani consumers at this time. This transition will involve stopping manufacturing at P&G Pakistan and Gillette Pakistan Ltd, and may take several months to complete. The transition will initially focus on P&G employees. The company's management will work to find new opportunities for affected employees in other P&G operations outside Pakistan. Alternatively, employees may receive separation agreements, adhering to local laws, company policies, and P&G's values and principles. P&G will continue to serve Pakistani consumers through its regional operations, despite winding down its local manufacturing and activity. The company is committed to supporting its employees through this transition, exploring opportunities for them within P&G's global network or providing fair separation packages.
