Munich Airport Arrests: Multiple Detentions by Federal Police Headquarters
The Federal Police Directorate in Munich announced multiple arrests made on August 26th, 2025, at Munich Airport. The arrests were part of routine border controls and were carried out by the Federal Police, a law enforcement agency in Germany.
The first arrest involved a 26-year-old man from Sarajevo who arrived at Memmingen Airport. He was wanted by a Bavarian court on an arrest warrant for threatening a person and causing costly property damage. The man paid an outstanding fine of 1,377.50 euros and was allowed to continue his journey.
Another individual arrested was a 44-year-old Canadian citizen wanted for theft by the Frankfurt Regional Court. Since the Canadian citizen couldn't pay the required fine, he will serve a 70-day prison sentence at the correctional facility in Erding.
A 35-year-old Swedish citizen was also checked at Munich Airport, wanted for drug-related offenses by Swedish authorities. The Swedish citizen was handed over to the Landshut Regional Court and is currently awaiting extradition at the Landshut correctional facility.
An Afghan national, wanted by the Nuremberg Regional Court for fraud, was also arrested during the border controls. Further information about the arrested individual couldn't be disclosed as he was handed over to the authorities.
On the same day, a 29-year-old Afghan national was handed over to the Federal Police at Munich Airport by Danish authorities. The details of the case are yet to be disclosed.
