Maternity Allowances to Rise Significantly Over Next Three Years
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has announced significant increases in maternity and childcare allowances over the next three years. The changes aim to support families with young children, with the Moscow region set to benefit the most.
Starting in 2026, the maximum monthly maternity allowance will rise to 207,500 rubles, then to 238,900 rubles in 2027, and further to 258,000 rubles in 2028. Similarly, the maximum childcare allowance for children under 1.5 years will increase to 83,000 rubles in 2026, 95,500 rubles in 2027, and 103,200 rubles in 2028.
The overall maximum maternity and childbirth allowance will also see a substantial boost. It will reach 955,836 rubles in 2026, 1,100,437.8 rubles in 2027, and 1,188,465.5 rubles in 2028. Notably, by 2027, the maximum maternity cash benefits will surpass 1 million rubles.
These increases, led by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, will provide much-needed financial support to families with young children. The Moscow region, with the highest number of families receiving monthly payments, stands to gain significantly from these changes.
