Malaysia's RDS expands its partnership roster by two new entities, marking additional progress in its growth trajectory.
Two experienced legal professionals, Sharifah Hamzah and Hurriyyah Kamaruzzaman, have joined Malaysian law firm RDS Partnership as new partners. This move is aimed at strengthening the firm's corporate and infrastructure practice, particularly in technology, energy, manufacturing, and related transactional sectors.
Sharifah Sazita, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience, will head RDS Partnership's Middle East desk. Her expertise lies in advisory on construction and engineering contracts, operations and maintenance agreements, and technical services contracts. Sharifah has handled projects across Malaysia, Qatar, Southeast Asia, Kuwait, Oman, Dubai, Pakistan, Iraq, and Jordan, making her a valuable asset for clients seeking guidance on Middle East investments.
Before joining RDS Partnership, Sharifah worked at Middle Eastern firm Whitepencil, as well as Azmi & Associates and Foong & Partners in Malaysia. She also has experience at Bennett Jones and Al Tamimi & Company in Qatar. Sharifah will not only support Malaysian clients with Middle East investments but also advise them on projects and investments in the Asia Pacific region.
Hurriyyah Kamaruzzaman, with about a decade of experience, brings expertise in corporate, commercial, and real estate transactions. She has experience in project financing, conveyancing, and commercial documentation related to debt securities. Her corporate practice includes ordinary business asset transactions, complex procurement activities, and concession and framework arrangements with governmental agencies and ministries.
Before joining RDS Partnership, Hurriyyah ran her own practice and has experience at Feroz & Co, Zul Rafique & Partners, and Kadir Andri & Partners. Teo Siang Ly, a banking expert, joined RDS Partnership from Christopher & Lee Ong in April this year, further bolstering the firm's capabilities.
RDS Partnership is also aiming to deepen capabilities in areas including Islamic finance, construction, regulatory advisory, technology, and sustainability law. The firm believes that these new appointments will help them achieve their goals and provide even better service to their clients.
