In the world of sweet treats, a new player has emerged, capturing the attention of both investors and consumers alike. Nalu, a brand of fruit gums sweetened exclusively with natural ingredients and without added sugar, has been making waves since its appearance on the popular German TV show, "Die Höhle der Löwen" (Shark Tank).

The founders, Max Schön and Lisa Ippolito, have been fully dedicated to the joint venture, with Schön having already quit his job to focus on Nalu's growth. However, their humble demeanor almost cost them a deal, as Maschmeyer criticized the lack of "power and enthusiasm."

The founders' budget of 180,000 euros for the first year was also a point of contention, with Williams and Thelen expressing their concerns. But the founders, understanding the criticism about the previous packaging being too childish, have since revamped the brand design, making it more modern with large letters.

During the show, Judith Williams asked if they had developed a new, natural sweetener, to which the founders confirmed. This innovation, coupled with their commitment to natural ingredients, seemed to impress Ralf Dümmel, who offered 100,000 euros for 20 percent, expressing his excitement for the product.

However, the remaining three lions, Janna Ensthaler, Lena Gercke, and Ralf Dümmel, had reservations. They were ready to invest the requested 100,000 euros, but wanted 20 percent instead of the offered ten. Lisa Ippolito's ongoing studies and inability to fully commit to the company were also mentioned as a concern.

Despite these reservations, Lena Gercke and Janna Ensthaler have invested 125,000 euros in Nalu. Carsten Puschmann, an entrepreneur, investor, and serial founder, has also invested in Nalu, acquired by Janna Ensthaler. Ensthaler has since introduced the Nalu team to more investors and has shot short videos with Lena Gercke for future publication.

Since participating in "Die Höhle der Löwen," NALU has secured a deal with two investors on the show and has continued developing their sugar-reduced gummy candies. As a result, they have gained further attention and growth opportunities in the market, with the projected annual turnover of at least 180,000 euros having already been exceeded.

As of the article's publication, there is no similar product in German supermarkets, making Nalu a unique offering in the market. The DHDL episode with Nalu has been streamable for a few days, providing more people with the opportunity to learn about this innovative brand. With its commitment to natural ingredients and unique product offering, Nalu is poised for continued success in the future.
