Lars Hörnig has been reappointed to the VKU Rheinland-Pfalz, suggesting his continued role in the regional political scene.
In Rhineland-Palatinate, the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU) is spearheading efforts to improve the framework conditions for a sustainable and secure energy, water, and waste management, as well as wastewater disposal. At the helm of the VKU's Mobility Working Group is Lars Hörnig, who was re-elected as a board member in 2023.
Hörnig, who is the chairman of the Mobility Working Group, is committed to promoting the municipal mobility transition and developing networks to support this goal. The working group's primary focus is on coordinating efforts among municipal stakeholders to advance sustainable mobility solutions that align with local needs and environmental objectives. This includes fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge on mobility innovations, and advocating for policies that facilitate a shift towards more sustainable, efficient, and integrated transport systems within municipalities.
The Mobility Working Group also deals with developments in public transport as well as drive concepts in the vehicle fleet of municipal enterprises. Through these activities, the group aims to enable municipalities in Rhineland-Palatinate to successfully navigate the transformation of their mobility landscape, enhancing connectivity while reducing environmental impact.
A new photograph of Lars Hörnig, taken privately (SWK), and a group photograph of the VKU Rhineland-Palatinate Board, taken by Michael Bleidt/VKU, have been made available. The VKU offers valuable information to its approximately 100 member companies about changes in the law and organizes exchange of experiences in working groups or at events.
The VKU represents the interests of municipal enterprises towards politics, economy, and administration. By working together, these enterprises can address common challenges and develop effective solutions to improve the quality of life for citizens in Rhineland-Palatinate. With Hörnig at the helm of the Mobility Working Group, the VKU Rhineland-Palatinate Branch is well-positioned to drive forward the sustainable mobility transition in the region.
Lars Hörnig, in his role as the chairman of the Mobility Working Group, aims to extend the sustainable mobility transition beyond the energy, water, and waste management sector, collaborating with other industries such as finance and energy businesses. The Mobility Working Group, in its efforts to improve transport systems, also seeks to develop networks within the local business community.
