Kamchatka region's brands to showcase at the "Savor Russia" event in Moscow
Kamchatka Krai to Showcase Unique Culinary Heritage at "Tastes of Russia" Festival
Kamchatka Krai, a region in the Russian Far East known for its rich seafood and unique local cuisine, is set to participate in the National Gastronomic Festival "Tastes of Russia" from August 14 to 24, 2025. This will mark the region's fourth consecutive year participating in the festival.
The festival, which will take place at VDNKh, aims to highlight the role of small and medium-sized businesses in the agro-industrial sector and showcase the potential of regional food brands. In line with this, Kamchatka Krai plans to gather all Kamchatka brands that have participated in the project's competitive program over the years on its platform in 2025.
Two new brands, "Tinned Meat from Kamchatka Venison" and "Kamchatka Mineral Water Malkinskaya", will join the competition this year, adding to the diverse array of Kamchatka brands that have been showcased in previous years. These include "Kamchatka Blueberry", "Kamchatka Fern", "Kamchatka Salmon", "Kamchatka Fish Sausage", and "Kamchatka Ivan-tea" under the brand "Fairytale Kamchatka", which participated in the competition in 2020.
Kamchatka Krai's participation in the festival reflects a growing emphasis on promoting the region’s natural resources and indigenous gastronomy to a wider Russian and international audience. Typically, their presentations at such festivals highlight regional specialties such as Kamchatka crab, wild salmon, berries, and indigenous culinary traditions.
For the 2025 edition of the "Tastes of Russia" festival, Kamchatka Krai is expected to focus on fresh, sustainable seafood and traditional recipes, continuing its trend of emphasizing the uniqueness of its Far Eastern culinary identity. This participation likely aims to both boost regional tourism and enhance recognition of Kamchatka’s gastronomic heritage.
Ekaterina Boboeva, Deputy Minister and Head of the Veterinary Department of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, reported on the preparations for the event. The preparations for the festival are already underway.
In 2021, the region won the "Nationwide" nomination with the brand "Kamchatka Salmon". This victory underscores Kamchatka Krai's commitment to promoting its unique gastronomic offerings and its success in doing so on a national scale.
