Ireland's My Future Fund Automatic Enrolment Savings Plan Launches January 2026
Ireland's automatic enrolment savings plan, My Future Fund, is set to launch in January 2026. The National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority (NAERSA) is overseeing the scheme, with key dates including employer registration in December 2025 and the issuance of Auto-Enrolment Payroll Notifications (AEPNs).
The rollout of the AE system follows a structured timeline. Employers can expect to receive the first AEPNs in early December 2025, covering payroll data from the preceding three months. This will allow them time to integrate the data with their payroll systems before the 'go-live' date on 1 January 2026.
The employer portal for the AE system is expected to launch simultaneously, requiring employers to register and provide necessary company and payment details. NAERSA will determine employee eligibility for AE using payroll data from Revenue. Employers are advised to review their payroll data, decide on their approach to the scheme, engage with advisers and payroll providers, and prepare for registration to comply with AE requirements.
William Fry will continue to provide updates and assistance in preparing for AE and managing its implications for businesses.
Contributions to My Future Fund will commence on 1 January 2026. A comprehensive memo outlining the cost structure, including the member fee framework, will be shared publicly before this date. The Department of Social Protection has provided updates on the rollout at industry conferences, keeping stakeholders informed about the impending changes.
