Intensified Inspections at DVB: Exploring the Reason Behind Current Enhanced Ticket Scrutiny
Revved-up Public Transport Crackdown in Dresden! 🤔🚧
Get ready for a stricter ride on Dresden's buses and trams! Starting next week, the public transport authority is beefing up ticket inspections with the help of security firm operatives and police backup. The goal? To scrutinize each passenger on average once per quarter, as per internal targets. Weekend and evening inspections will also become more common. 🕝️🕵️♂️🚃
Why the heightened scrutiny? Well, back in the early days of COVID, tissue-tapping was temporarily put on the backburner to reduce contact. But now, with passenger numbers soaring above pandemic levels, it's back on the agenda. In fact, large-scale checks at stops are even in the pipeline, with the first one set for June 24!
With the surge in public transport usage surpassing pandemic levels, the industry anticipates a strengthened focus on finance, ensuring every passenger is validly ticketed. The increased public-transit inspections, starting next week, involve collaboration with finance-oriented security firms and police.
