Increased Demand for Financial Support at L-Bank - Increased Requests for Assistance at L-Bank

In the heart of southwest Germany, the state-owned L-Bank has been a driving force behind the region's economic growth. Recently, L-Bank has revamped its transformation programs to support future-proof companies through innovations and digital transformation.

The revamped programs, primarily under Innovationsfinanzierung and Digitalisierungsfinanzierung, consolidate previously separate initiatives in innovation financing and digital transformation. These streamlined programs aim to make it easier for companies to access the support they need.

One of the key elements of these programs is the Digitalisierungsprämie Plus, a repayment grant offered within the new digitalization funding tiers. This grant supports companies investing in digital transformation projects, regardless of their complexity.

The programs cater to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger privately-owned companies with annual revenues up to €500 million, provided they have a business location in Baden-Württemberg, also known as "THE LÄND."

L-Bank's funding includes loans from the European Recovery Program (ERP) administered by KfW, enhanced by L-Bank with additional interest reductions and repayment grants to make the offers particularly attractive to regional companies.

Aside from financial support, L-Bank is fostering collaboration between start-ups and medium-sized businesses through initiatives like the Innovators Challenge, which promotes joint innovation projects and strengthens the economy's transformation capacity.

The focus of these programs and initiatives is on future technologies, reflecting Baden-Württemberg's strategic emphasis on supporting cutting-edge technologies and the digital transformation of the economy.

In the first half of 2025, L-Bank promoted the economy more strongly compared to the previous year. The promotional sum offered by L-Bank increased by 3.2 percent to approximately 1.74 billion euros. L-Bank CEO Edith Weymayr stated that the good promotional figures of the first half of 2025 correspond to the overall somewhat more optimistic future expectations of companies in the southwest.

L-Bank also announced an increase of 8.7 percent in the number of promoted companies to 5,964. These figures underscore L-Bank's commitment to helping Baden-Württemberg companies invest in and advance their digital and innovative capabilities, ensuring their competitiveness and future-readiness.

The revamped transformation programs at L-Bank, focusing on Innovationsfinanzierung and Digitalisierungsfinanzierung, have consolidated various employment and financing policies to facilitate easier access for companies seeking support in innovation and digital transformation. This includes the Digitalisierungsprämie Plus, a repayment grant offered within the new digitalization funding tiers, which provides financial aid to companies investing in digital transformation projects.
