Highway Closure at Hermsdorf Extended Until Christmas
🚧 construction UPDATE: S59 Road Closure Between Ottendorf-Okrilla and Hermsdorf 🚧
If you're traveling to Dresden or Königsbrück via the S59, brace yourself – it's going to be a detour-filled journey until just before Christmas. Why, you ask? That old bridge over the Große Röder finally got its long-awaited makeover, and now it's ready to join the state road!
But don't fret - the LASuV (Landesamt für Straßenbau und Verkehr) assures us that the S59 should be back in business on December 22 (unless Mother Nature has other plans!). The originally planned date was mid-November, but construction delays are a part of life.
Before we can celebrate the return of the S59, the construction pit needs to be safely dismantled, which means we'll need to stick to those detours via the B97, B98, S100, and S177. And, don't get your hopes up for half-lane traffic – it's not feasible under the on-site conditions.
After the reopening, the roadway in the transition area will be adjusted to the new conditions. However, that's not the end of the project. There'll still be remaining work in the curb and sidewalk areas, with traffic being half-lane and regulated by a construction traffic light.
The good news is that the construction costs of 1.4 million euros haven't changed, according to the Landesamt. But for the latest and most accurate information, it's always a good idea to double-check with local transportation authorities or official government websites. Keep your eyes on the road and stay safe, friends! 🛣️🚗⚡️
In light of the construction update on the S59 road, commuters might need to consider alternative routes during their journeys, considering the detour-filled journey could extend into the finance sector with potential increased travel costs due to the diversions. In the grand scheme of things, the much-anticipated refurbishment of the bridge also signifies an improvement in the industry and transportation sectors, aiming to enhance the overall infrastructure.
