High-speed train service between Mumbai and Ahmedabad set to commence shortly, journey duration anticipated to be less than 2 hours: Vaishnaw
India's First Bullet Train Service Between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to Commence Soon
The much-anticipated bullet train service between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is set to start operations very soon. Union Ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Nimuben Bambhaniya were present at an event where the details of this historic project were announced.
According to the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the journey time on this high-speed rail corridor will be approximately 2 hours and 7 minutes (127 minutes). This new Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor will be India's first bullet train route, covering 508 km and using Japan's advanced Shinkansen technology.
The bullet train will connect several cities in Gujarat, including Vapi, Surat, Anand, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. It is expected to run at a speed of 320 km per hour.
In addition to this, the Union minister also spoke about several other railway projects in Gujarat. These include a new train between Porbandar and Rajkot, a Rs 135-crore coach maintenance facility at Ranavav station, a railway flyover in Porbandar city, two Gati Shakti cargo terminals, and a container terminal at an upcoming port in Bhavnagar.
In the past 11 years under the Narendra Modi government, 34,000 km of new railway tracks have been laid, with almost 12 km of new tracks built in the country daily. The minister also highlighted the renovation of railway stations, which is being done in a way that maintains operations while undergoing renovation.
The minister also mentioned the Vande Bharat Express, Amrit Bharat Express, and Namo Bharat Express trains introduced by the Modi government. Eight Amrit Bharat trains have been launched so far, featuring low fares and new-age technology.
It is worth noting that 1,300 railway stations are being redeveloped in the country, which is a first. Modiji has a vision for the renovation of these stations, taking into account the challenges of India's large population.
However, no information about the PMLA case involving Viresh Joshi, the inauguration of Bengaluru's Yellow Line Metro, or the 'Bharat' taxi service was provided in the current paragraph.
